The Green Youth Lab (GYL) are open and innovative spaces for young people to experiment green skills acquisition, networking with local players, orienteering sessions and blended learning based on green areas.
The GYL involves trained youth workers and educators from different sectors and countries to sustain youth development in green emerging jobs.
The aim is to train youth workers, educators, and career guidance staff to develop high-quality green programs for young people, particularly those facing barriers, providing valuable educational and career support.
It will serve as a best practice model to be replicated among youth and labor sectors, including employment centers, to enhance innovation and learning through youth engagement.
Green Youth Labs (GYL) in Each Country:
In each participating country, the Green Youth Labs initiative is implemented by trained youth workers as innovative and collaborative hubs. These labs offer workshops on sustainability and non-formal education (NFE) sessions to help young people acquire green soft skills. The activities will leverage the provided toolkit and e-learning platform to promote emerging green job opportunities.
The GYL approach is adaptable to local contexts while following the guidelines outlined in the training of trainers (ToT).
The GYL activities for young people may include workshops on sustainable living, orientation sessions, introducing the MOOC platform, coaching sessions, green soft skills training, and site visits to sustainability-focused organizations.
Handbook on the Green youth labs experiences:
A comprehensive handbook in English will be developed to share project outcomes and best practices at the EU level. This handbook will provide a detailed overview of the project context and specific results achieved through the implementation of the four Green Youth Labs.
This initiative seeks to empower youth and promote sustainability through practical education and engagement with emerging green opportunities.
