In this Environmental Assessment and Circular Economy course, I guide you through the theoretical, legislative, and practical foundations of sustainability within business, policy, and industry. We explore key topics such as climate change, sustainability, the polluter pays principle, the European Green Deal, and the EU Taxonomy for Sustainable Investments. You will learn how to calculate and reduce both carbon and ecological footprints, apply eco-design strategies, and assess environmental impacts beyond emissions, including energy consumption, land use, waste, noise, and light pollution. We also analyze how digitalization influences these impacts and how circular solutions can optimize resource use and minimize waste. Through practical examples, I demonstrate how businesses, public administrations, and civil engineers can apply these concepts to foster the transition towards resilient and sustainable systems, enhancing employability in the green economy.

The Environmental Assessment and Circular Economy course was really interesting and enriching. I found it dynamic and well-balanced, combining theory with plenty of real-life examples that made complex topics like sustainability, carbon footprints, and the circular economy much easier to understand. The sections on European legislation, the Green Deal, and the Taxonomy for Sustainable Investments were especially helpful to grasp how environmental policies are shaped today. I also really liked the hands-on exercises, such as calculating ecological footprints and exploring eco-design strategies — they helped put the theory into practice. The course not only gave me a solid foundation in environmental topics but also made me reflect on how I can apply these ideas in my professional and personal life to support more sustainable systems. Without a doubt, the best part of the course was the actionable advice — practical tips on how to turn what we learned into real action. Those insights were incredibly useful for understanding how to move toward more sustainable and responsible solutions. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to make the videos a bit shorter and divide them into smaller parts, so it’s easier to finish each module without leaving a video halfway through. It would also help to include more structured information or a short index for each video, to follow the content more easily. Overall, it’s a great course that I’d definitely recommend to anyone interested in sustainability and wanting to contribute to a greener future.
